A keepsake from the fourth dimension.

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I love the idea of time capsules. When I came across this idea for a wedding time capsule, I knew I had to share! You don’t have to dig a hole in the backyard to make a time capsule. Buying a special box (maybe a suitcase like one of these from Paper Source) and storing it somewhere safe will do.

After the wedding, you’ll probably still have a mountain of wedding-related projects, ideas and keepsakes laying around. I think this is the perfect solution to helping prioritize what you should keep and what can be thrown away! Here are some suggestions for your time capsule:

  • A letter to each other in the future
  • Wedding invitation, program and menu
  • Newspaper, magazine or other media published on your wedding day
  • The cork from your champagne toast
  • Pressed petals from your bouquet or the groom’s boutonniere
  • A copy of your vows
  • The guestbook
  • Honeymoon brochures
  • Ticket stubs
  • A letter to your children describing what your wedding was like

Imagine opening it up and reliving your wedding day all over again on your anniversaries or sharing it with your son or daughter as they prepare to tie the knot. What a sweet idea!
