flower

Yesterday morning I went out to Howard’s Knob with the intent of taking some cool pictures of Boone as the sun rose over the horizon, but it was so foggy that you could barely see anything at all! I did spot a doe on the way up, but she disappeared into the brush before I could take a picture. Animals are so uncooperative. :P So here’s a picture of a wildflower instead!

I’m on a quest right now for a bag. Well, a purse, really. Not a backpack. Not a camera bag. Definitely not a fanny pack. A real, grown-up purse that will allow me to join the ranks of millions of women out there who carry their entire existence on their hip. Problem is, I’m scared to death of choosing the wrong one. When you think about it, a woman’s purse says so much about who she is as a person. It’s probably not a sign of mental health that I feel a little like I’m trying to pick out the Holy Grail on Etsy.com.

It occurs to me that this is similar to the feeling so many of our brides have when it comes time to choose their wedding gown. They’re searching for “the one” that doesn’t just make them look beautiful, but makes them feel beautiful on the inside and out. Luckily for me, choosing a purse is much easier because I can wear as many as I want without having to get a divorce first.

I think I’ve narrowed down my choices: one, two, three, or four.

P.S. Oh my God. It’s a book, it’s a purse, it’s a JANE AUSTEN PURSE.

Well, it snowed…again. This is supposed to be spring! Gah. I hope it’s warmer where you are right now!

And here are two snapshots of Corey and I just as we were about to leave (can you tell we’re cold??).

Corey and his father built this stone walkway by hand.  It’s pretty amazing!
